Finding the Right Vehicle
In our continuous efforts to support Ukraine, we secured a well-functioning Citroën Jumpy with a roof rack, perfectly suited for our humanitarian mission. This reliable vehicle was destined not only to carry essential supplies but also to serve as an evacuation transport in the Dnipro region.
Packing with Purpose
With the generous donations collected in Nijmegen, Netherlands, we fully loaded the van with crucial humanitarian aid, including:
- Warm clothing, bed linens, towels – ensuring comfort and warmth for those in need.
- Hygiene products – a large supply of soap, detergents, and personal care items (моючі засоби, засоби гігієни, мило та інше).
- Isolation materials and respirators – providing safety and warmth in critical conditions.
- Wheel chains – essential for safe transportation, especially during winter months.
- Other vital supplies – various items to improve living conditions and provide relief.
Efficient Logistics and Teamwork
Thanks to joint efforts and careful planning, we optimized delivery costs while ensuring swift transportation:
- Eugene drove the van from Nijmegen to Krakow in just one day.
- Upon arrival, he transferred the vehicle to Dmytro, who embarked on the next leg of the journey.
- Border Crossing & Declarations – All humanitarian aid was legally declared while crossing into Ukraine.
- After another full day of driving, Dmytro reached Kyiv, where he handed over the van to a fellow volunteer, Dmytro from БОБФ Довіра Дніпро.
- The final leg of the journey saw the van reaching Dnipro, where it was welcomed with open arms.
Impact and Gratitude
Upon arrival in Dnipro, the humanitarian aid was distributed to those who needed it most.
The Citroën Jumpy itself will now serve as an evacuation vehicle, helping civilians in the region safely relocate.
Seeing the gratitude and relief on people’s faces reaffirmed the importance of our mission.
